The homeless Mavericks are again emerging into the sunlight, this time with an American classic, STEEL MAGNOLIAS.  We will again be in the Mabee Theatre Two at Midland Community Theatre. 

STEEL MAGNOLIAS was first produced in 1987, a tribute by the author, Robert Harling, to his late sister.  It became a phenomenal theatrical success and was made into a memorable movie.

The setting is a beauty shop in Chinquapin, Louisiana, in the early eighties.

Truvy, the owner of the shop, will be played by TRUDIE THOMASON, and her assistant stylist, Annelle, is LYDIA WILLIS.  MAIJA JOHNSON is Shelby, the new bride, and LAURA METZGER-BOND will be her mother, M’Lynn.

The cast is completed with CHARLYNE DODGE as Clairee, the former first lady of Chinquapin, and MARY LOU CASSIDY, as Ouiser, the town curmudgeon.

ANDY SALCEDO is the director of the production.

Bring your hankies, but be ready for some great comedy, too.

This is not a membership production.  We have elected not to sell a season membership until we have a more definite future.

All tickets will be cash or check -- $15.00 for Friday and Saturday nights, $10 for our matinees on Sundays and our unusual Saturday matinee on January 28th.

We encourage you to make your reservations early, and arrive early enough to pick up your tickets.  We anticipate a large turnout for this one.  There will be a wine and goodies reception on opening night.
